Railway group d computer based test consists 100 questions of General Awareness and Current Affairs, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Mathematics and General science. Each question carries one mark with ⅓ negative marks for each incorrect answer.
After clearing CBT candidates have to appear for a physical efficiency test, there are different PET standards for the male and female candidates which are listed above.
Then candidates have to attempt the document verification process with their documents mentioned in the form filling and lastly there will be medical examinations.

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:
Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
General Intelligence and reasoning

Document Verification
Depending on the performance of candidates in Computer Based Test (CBT) subject to their qualifying in Physical Efficiency Test (PET), candidates twice the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.
Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)
Physical efficiency test (PET) standards for the male and female candidates are as follows:
PET for Male candidates
Candidate Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and also Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance only.
PET for Female candidates
Candidate Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance
